Top MD Warns: It's Not Arthritis. Rub This Remedy on Your Hip for Fast, Lasting Relief
- October 2, 2026

Hi, I'm Dr. Jennifer Anderson. I've been a rheumatologist for 19 years, and most of my patients are women over 50.
For 16 of those years, I told them what your doctor probably told you.
"It's just arthritis. That's normal wear and tear for a woman your age."
I stopped saying it three winters ago, when it happened to me.
I was 53, and I could not lie on my own hip.
A little after one every night, a sharp pain woke me on my left side. An hour later, it woke me on my right.
So I asked a colleague to X-ray my hip.
The X-ray showed nothing. He still called it arthritis and said it was just normal wear and tear.
Those were my own words. Now I was the patient.
I got the same cortisone shot my patients got. It lasted 19 days.
Then one night I pushed my thumb into the bone on the side of my hip. It was agony.
In all my years of practice, I had called that pain arthritis or bursitis.
It was neither.
Does your hip wake you up at night? Does it ache right on the bone?
Do you hold the car door to climb out?
Then here is one more question. Does that bone hurt when you press on it?
If it does, it's not your joint.
I'll show you how my patients are sleeping on that side again with the ancient remedy I keep in a small jar in my own bathroom.
You just rub a dime-sized amount on your hip bone before bed, without pills or cortisone shots.
Let me tell you about my patient Linda.
LINDA HADN'T SLEPT ON HER RIGHT SIDE IN TWO YEARS…

Every night, Linda went to bed on her left side with a pillow between her knees.
Sometime after midnight, she rolled onto her right side. Her whole weight pressed her hip bone into the mattress. She woke up in pain.
Some nights she wondered if it was bone cancer. She had never said that out loud until she said it to me.
She turned onto her back. A deep ache ran from her hip bone down the outside of her thigh to her knee.
At 4am, she gave up and went down to the kitchen. She sat at the table in the dark and read about hip replacements on her phone.
In those two years, her husband, Tom, had moved to the guest room after 38 years in the same bed.
Linda quit her Tuesday pickleball game and cut the dog's morning walk down to the stop sign and back. She took the stairs one at a time, gripping the railing.
In February, her son called from Colorado and asked her to visit. She said she'd look at flights, but she never booked one.
The flight scared her. Seven nights in a strange bed scared her even more.
A week later, she came to my clinic.
"I haven't seen my son in a year," she told me. She looked at the floor when she said it.
She was 63. "I feel about 90," she said. "And I can't sleep on either side."
She brought a list of everything she'd tried and how long each one had helped.

Her first doctor's cortisone shot helped for two days. Ibuprofen upset her stomach.
A second doctor called it bursitis. His cortisone shot helped for three weeks.
10 weeks of physical therapy, with clamshells and a stretch every night, made it worse. Voltaren gel helped for two or three hours.
In January, a surgeon told her the joint looked fine on the X-ray. There was nothing for him to replace.
"So I have to live with it," she said.
I see a list like Linda's almost every week. Some of it helps for a while. None of it lasts.
Nobody had found what was hurting her.
It took me about 30 seconds to find it.
WHAT LINDA'S X-RAYS COULDN'T SHOW

I had Linda lie on her left side, the way she went to bed.
I found the bone on the side of her right hip, the spot she held at night. I pressed on it with one finger.
She almost jumped off the exam table.
Her X-rays were right. Her joint was fine, and so was the bone.
Her second doctor had called it bursitis. He was half right.
Something on that bone was inflamed.
It was a tendon.
The tendon connects her buttock muscles to her hip bone, right where I was pressing.
So her hip pain felt like it was coming from the bone.
It was never the bone. When I told her that, Linda let out a long breath.
And an X-ray can't show a tendon. That's why hers kept coming back fine.
If you were told it's just arthritis, you can still have an inflamed tendon. Many of my patients have both. Arthritis aches in the groin. The tendon hurts on the side of your hip, right where you lie on it.
The medical name is gluteal tendinopathy. Gluteal means buttock. Tendinopathy means an inflamed tendon.
Radiologists at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia checked the ultrasound scans of 877 people with pain on the side of the hip.
Most were women. 8 out of 10 had no bursitis at all.
So if you were told it's bursitis, or your X-ray came back fine, it's likely the same inflamed tendon.
Linda's hip wasn't worn out. It wasn't bursitis. She was sleeping on an inflamed tendon.
WHY SO MANY WOMEN CAN'T SLEEP ON THEIR SIDE AFTER MENOPAUSE

Linda had slept on her side all her life. Why did her hip start hurting at 61?
"I had no idea my hip pain was related to menopause," she told me. None of her doctors had ever brought it up.
Her first doctor had called it normal wear and tear for a woman her age.
It wasn't her age. It was the drop in estrogen.
After menopause, a woman's estrogen drops and stays low.
Your body does its healing at night, while you sleep.
A tendon is made of collagen. Your body needs estrogen to make collagen.
So after menopause, an inflamed tendon heals much more slowly than it used to.
Doctors writing in the British Medical Journal say 1 in 4 women over 50 has gluteal tendinopathy.
Some of my patients take hormone therapy, and their hips still hurt at night.
Those hormones go through the whole body. But the sore tendon sits in one spot on the side of the hip.
And every night, Linda was lying on that spot.
WHY LINDA COULDN'T SLEEP ON EITHER SIDE

Back on my exam table, Linda was still lying on her left side. Her right knee had dropped down in front of her left one.
That position was pressing on her sore tendon.
A long, tough band runs down the outside of your thigh, from your hip to your knee. Doctors call it the IT band.
It runs right over the sore tendon on your hip bone.
Think of a rope pulled over a table edge. The tighter you pull, the harder it presses into the edge.
Linda's tendon sat in between.
When your knee drops across your body, the band pulls tighter.
Researchers have measured how hard the band presses on the hip bone. When your knee drops across your body, that band presses more than 25 times harder than when your leg is straight.
On her right side, Linda lay on the sore tendon.
On her left side, her right knee dropped and pulled the band tight.
The pillow between her knees held that knee up. It helped a little.
Both sides hurt.
And lying still kept the pressure on the same spot for hours.
That's why 4am was the worst.
It also explained two things on her list.
Her physical therapist gave her a stretch to do every night. It pulled her right knee across her body. For 10 weeks, that pressed the band into her sore tendon.
Her second doctor's cortisone shot helped for three weeks. Then her hip pain came back.
Nothing on Linda's list could last while she lay on that tendon every night.
Each night the inflammation around the tendon built up again. And after menopause, her body couldn't heal it fast enough.
A pillow takes the pressure off. A pillow can't heal the tendon.
So the tendon keeps getting worse. And a tendon that keeps breaking down can tear and may need surgery.
HOW TO CHECK YOUR OWN HIP IN 30 SECONDS

Put your hand where it hurts. A sore tendon hurts on the side of your hip.
Press on the bone on the side of your sore hip. If it hurts, you know how Linda felt on my table.
Hold your kitchen counter and stand on your sore leg. Count to 30.
A medical review for family doctors found that if your hip aches before you reach 30, an MRI will show that inflamed tendon every time.
It hurts on the side of your hip. The spot hurts when you press it. Your hip aches before you count to 30.
That's the tendon problem Linda had.
Linda went two years before a doctor told her it was the tendon. I missed it too, until it was my own hip.
The longer you lie on a sore tendon, the harder it is for your body to heal it.
But Linda sleeps on her right side again.
THE THREE THINGS I WROTE ON THE BACK OF LINDA'S LIST

Linda's list was still on my desk. Before she left, I turned it over and wrote three things on the back.
She still has it.
The best treatments on her list did one of these three things. None of them did all three.
1. Ease hip pain, right on that spot.
Her ibuprofen went through her whole body and upset her stomach. Her pain sat in one spot on the side of her hip.
A hip joint sits deep inside you, under thick muscle. This tendon sits just under the skin, right on the hip bone.
That's why one finger finds it. And it's why a remedy you rub on can reach it.
2. Bring the inflammation down.
Her Voltaren gel wore off long before morning.
Every night she lay on that tendon for hours, and the inflammation around it built up again.
3. Help the tendon heal.
Her second cortisone shot eased her hip pain for three weeks. Underneath, the tendon still hadn't healed.
After menopause, her body healed that tendon too slowly. Her body needed help, every night.
I sent her home with a remedy that does all three.

In late May, Linda came back to my office for her follow-up.
I asked her to lie on her right side. She lay down without a wince.
I pressed on the hip bone. It didn't hurt anymore.
Tom had moved out of the guest room and back into their bedroom.
She had a flight to Colorado that Friday to see her son.
WHY THE PAIN CLINIC IN MY BUILDING ISN'T HAPPY WITH ME
Linda went back to her Tuesday pickleball game in June.
Five women from her group booked appointments with me, and one of them sent her neighbor, Diane, 66.
For two years, Diane had been living with pain on the side of her hip. She'd tried three cortisone shots, two rounds of physical therapy, and acupuncture.
Her X-ray showed arthritis, and she was due back at her surgeon's office that Friday to talk about a hip replacement.
I pressed on her hip bone. She jumped the same way Linda had.
Her pain wasn't the arthritis. It was the same sore tendon. I wrote the same three things down for her.
She canceled the Friday appointment with her surgeon.
At the end of August, she drove herself 40 minutes to see me. A year earlier, her husband had to drive her everywhere while she shifted in her seat the whole way.
Diane and the five women from pickleball used the same remedy. All six of them are sleeping on their side again.

Now my front desk asks every new caller one question: "Does it hurt on the side of your hip?"
Most of them say yes, and my waitlist is now four months.
My office shares a building with a pain clinic. For years, I sent my hip patients down to them for cortisone shots.
Their office manager called my front desk to ask if we had stopped seeing hip patients.
A few days later, a surgeon I've sent patients to for 15 years stopped me by the elevators. Diane had been on his Friday schedule. He asked what I'd told her.
I told him about the spot and the three things I wrote down for her.
"You cost me a hip replacement, Jennifer," he said.
The pain clinic bills for every shot, and the surgeon bills for every operation.
Blue Cross Blue Shield added up what planned hip and knee operations cost in one year. It came to more than $25 billion.
Nobody bills for pressing one finger on your hip bone, so you get sent for shots and X-rays while that sore tendon keeps you off your side every night.
It's the path the system pays for.
Most of the women on my waitlist can't sleep on their side tonight. They shouldn't have to wait four months to hear what I tell my patients.
So I'm showing you what I have them rub on that spot every night.
It's the same small jar I keep in my own bathroom.
THE ANCIENT REMEDY THAT HELPS AN INFLAMED TENDON HEAL WHILE YOU SLEEP

It's Nurovita Natural Comfort Balm. It does all three things on the back of Linda's list: it eases your hip pain, brings the inflammation down, and helps the tendon heal.
Frankincense helps the tendon heal. This is the ancient remedy, a resin from the frankincense tree.
Every night you lie on that tendon, the inflammation around it builds. The boswellic acid in the resin brings the inflammation down.
In Belgium, 670 people with sore tendons took an extract of this resin, together with turmeric, for one month. Their pain dropped by half. Here, you rub that resin right over your sore tendon.
Most frankincense creams are made with frankincense oil. The oil has the smell, but the boswellic acid that brings the inflammation down stays behind in the resin.
I looked at the labels on 11 of the best sellers. Not one of them says how much boswellic acid is in the jar. The frankincense in this jar is made from the resin itself, concentrated to 65% boswellic acid.

Menthol gives instant relief. You feel a fresh wave of menthol on the hip bone before you've finished rubbing it in, and then a little warming follows.
Arnica eases pain too. A 2021 review of clinical trials found that rubbing on arnica relieves sore tissue, and here it helps the menthol ease hip pain right on that spot.
Vitamin E makes it last. It absorbs into your skin and stays there all night.
You'll see MSM on the label too. It's a natural sulfur that carries the other four ingredients deep down to the tendon.
At bedtime, just rub a dime-sized amount onto the hip bone, every night. The whole routine takes a minute.
I'm 56 now. I rub it on my left hip most nights, after a full day at my clinic.
And I sleep on my left side again, the whole night.
WHAT YOU'LL FEEL, NIGHT BY NIGHT

Night 1.
You feel the menthol first, then the warmth.
By the time you've turned off the lamp, the ache on the hip bone has eased. You lie down on your good side.
Most women tell me they slept through the night for the first time in months.
Day 3.
You've rubbed the balm on that spot for three nights. You notice the difference when you step out of the car without gripping the door.
The tendon hasn't healed yet. It's less sore in the morning because the inflammation came down while you slept.
Week 2.
This is the night Linda still talks about. She went to bed on her left side, like always. She woke up at six on her right.
Two years of avoiding that side, and she slept through the night on it without pain.
That warmth you feel each night is more blood reaching the skin over the sore tendon. Under the skin, the frankincense is bringing the inflammation down, night after night.
Week 6 to 8.
The frankincense has had six weeks to help the tendon heal.
You carry the laundry basket up the stairs with both hands. You stop planning where you'll sit. Linda played pickleball again at week 12.
Linda's first cortisone shot eased her hip pain for two days. The Voltaren gel eased it for two or three hours.
Each time, her hip pain came back, because neither one helped her body heal the tendon.
After menopause, your body heals an inflamed tendon slowly. And every night, you lie on it again. The jar brings the inflammation down and helps the tendon heal.
Rub it in every night for eight weeks, and you can sleep on that side again.
THE RESULTS THAT HAVE PAIN CLINICS SCRAMBLING
In the last 18 months, more than 10,000 people have used this jar.
Since Linda, every woman who comes to me with pain on the side of her hip goes home with the same jar.
The results?
- More than 9 out of 10 feel a fresh wave of menthol on their hip first, then a little warming and lasting relief. Most sleep on that side again within eight weeks.
- Many of them never went back for another cortisone shot.
But my favorite number? The refund rate on this jar is 0.4%. That's 4 jars in 1,000.
Don't take my word for it. Here are four notes from this summer.

"My hip hurt for three years. Two doctors told me it was arthritis, and two cortisone shots wore off.
I couldn't lie on either side. I couldn't spend a morning in my garden, and the garden is the whole reason I moved to Arizona.
The first night I rubbed the balm on, I slept until five. In the third week, I woke up on my bad side and couldn't believe it.
Yesterday I weeded for an hour before it got hot, and my hip didn't wake me up once."

"I work the front desk at a middle school, so I sit all day. My hip pain started two years after menopause. It never crossed my mind the two were linked. I blamed the chair.
Standing up at three o'clock hurt, and at night I couldn't lie on that side without waking up in pain.
Dr. Anderson pressed that spot on my hip bone and found the tendon. After two weeks of rubbing the balm on every night, I slept on my side again and stood right up from my desk.
Our dog gets the whole loop of the park now, not just to the corner and back."

"I went to three doctors over five years, and the last one told me it was just my age. Then my daughter heard about Dr. Anderson from a friend and pressed on my hip bone.
It was the tendon, not my joint. I started rubbing the balm on that spot every night, and within a month I was sleeping on my side again.
In August, I rode three hours in my daughter's car to the beach and sat in a beach chair all afternoon. I hadn't done either one in years."

"I used to hike every week until my hip kept me awake on my side all night. A cortisone shot lasted a month, and physical therapy made it worse because that stretch pulled the band tight across my sore tendon.
After six weeks of rubbing the balm on my hip bone every night, I sleep on that side again. Yesterday I walked two miles down the trail behind our house with my poles, and I didn't think about my hip once."
WHAT LINDA'S LIST COST, AND WHAT THE JAR COSTS

Linda's list came to $1,460 after insurance: two shots, 10 weeks of physical therapy, the gel, and a surgeon with nothing to replace.
That was one woman, in two years.
Diane had three shots and physical therapy twice, and was one Friday away from a hip replacement.
Now take out your own list. How many lines are on it?
The shots. You felt better for days, maybe weeks. Then you were back in the same chair, paying for another.
- Cortisone shots: $100 to $300 each, or $300 to $500 when they use an ultrasound to guide the needle
- Up to three a year
- Total: up to $1,500 a year, and every one wears off
The therapy. You did every clamshell they gave you. Did anyone mention that the nightly stretch was pressing the band into your sore tendon?
- About $40 a visit with insurance, $137 without
- Two visits a week for 10 weeks
- Total: $800 to $2,740, for a stretch that made it worse
The surgery. Blue Cross Blue Shield puts the average hip replacement at $30,685. An earlier Blue Cross study found it running as high as $73,987 in Boston.
- Months of recovery
- Total billed: up to $73,987, for a joint that was never the problem
You pay for each one whether your tendon heals or not. Has yours?
Then add up the nights. Linda lay on that sore tendon every single night for two years, and nobody sent her a bill for them.
Those nights still cost her. Tom moved to the guest room, she quit her Tuesday pickleball game, and she went a year without seeing her son in Colorado.
So what does the jar cost?
Ask a compounding pharmacy for a made-to-order pain cream and the bill runs $80 to $300, every month.
Nurovita's regular price is $69.99 a jar. Unlike a shot, the balm doesn't wear off in three weeks and leave you booking the next one.
And today you won't pay that.
THE 67% DISCOUNT THE PAIN CLINIC IN MY BUILDING WON'T LIKE

I called Nurovita and asked them to lower the price.
Most of the women who come to me are retired, and every one has already paid for a list like Linda's. I didn't want $69.99 to stand in their way.
They agreed. If you're reading this, you get 67% off.
Here's the math. On the 5-jar "Buy 3, Get 2 FREE" pack, the 3 jars you pay for are marked down too. Each jar comes to $23.40 instead of $69.99. That's the 67% off, and the box ships free.
The 3-jar pack has one free jar in it. That works out to $26 a jar, shipped free too.
$23.40 is less than one physical therapy visit with insurance. It's less than a tube of Voltaren and a bottle of ibuprofen. It's less than lunch for two after Tuesday pickleball.
Nurovita gives you 90 days to try the balm. On the 5-jar pack, that's $1.30 a night.
Why would they do it? Because a woman who sleeps on her side again tells her pickleball group, and they want the same jar. Five women from Linda's group use it now, and so does Diane.
And the pain clinic in my building? Linda and Diane never went back for another shot.
THE CATCH: THE FRANKINCENSE RESIN COMES FROM A TREE

This price won't last. The frankincense in this jar can't be made in a factory.
In central India, the frankincense tree is tapped by hand, in the dry season only.
The resin seeps out for about a week, then dries for a month before it can be used.
So Nurovita can't make more overnight.
They've sold out four times since spring.
The next batch depends on the harvest, not on how many women want it.
As I write this, jars are still available. I can't promise any will be left tomorrow.
And every night you wait:
You lie on that tendon, and the inflammation builds up again.
The tendon gets a little more sore.
Lying on your other side starts to hurt too.
You get closer to booking another cortisone shot that wears off.
Meanwhile, the jar that helps the tendon heal is sitting right here.
⚠️ THE DISCOUNT ON THIS PAGE EXPIRES TONIGHT ⚠️
After that, the price goes back to $69.99 a jar. If there are jars left at all.
THE 90-DAY "SLEEP ON THAT SIDE AGAIN" GUARANTEE I MADE THEM PUT IN WRITING

You have a list too. Every line on it was supposed to work.
So if you're skeptical about trying one more thing, I get it.
Here's what I made Nurovita put in writing for anyone who orders here.
Try it for 90 full days, counted from the day it arrives. Rub a dime-sized amount on the hip bone every night.
And if you don't wake up one morning and think... "Holy crap, I slept on my bad side all night"... Nurovita refunds every single penny.
❌ If you still can't sleep on your bad side...
❌ If the hip bone still hurts when you press it...
❌ If you're still sitting in a dark kitchen at 4am...
You get your money back. Even if the jar is empty.
No forms. No "store credit." No questions asked.
Just email support@trynurovita.com with your order number and say "It didn't work." A real person reads it and writes back within one business day.
The money goes back to your card in 3 to 5 business days.
Why would they agree to that? Their refund rate on this jar is 0.4%. That's 4 jars in 1,000.
And if you want to know they stand behind it, here is Nurovita's phone number.
(307) 392-7522. That's a real number.
A real person picks up, day or night.
You may be five years in, like Ruth, or two, like Linda. Your body heals the tendon the same way. You have 90 full days to see for yourself.
THE CHOICE THAT WILL DEFINE YOUR NEXT DECADE

Linda's Friday was a flight to Colorado. Diane's Friday was at her surgeon's office, to talk about a hip replacement.
Right now, you have the same choice Linda and Diane had.
Path 1: Keep the list going.
Get another cortisone shot that can weaken the tendon and wears off before the bill arrives. Do another round of the stretch that presses the band into the tendon.
Spend another year going to bed on one side and waking up in pain on the other.
Tell your family you'll plan a trip, and never book one.
After menopause, your body heals that tendon slowly. Lie on it every night, and your body never gets the chance to heal it.
A tendon that keeps breaking down can tear. The Cleveland Clinic says a torn one may need surgery.
Then a surgeon does have a Friday for you.
Path 2: Help your body heal the tendon.
Spend less on a jar than you'd pay for one physical therapy visit, and rub in the balm that has already helped more than 10,000 people.
Bring the inflammation down right on the tendon, instead of paying for another cortisone shot that wears off in a few weeks.
Sleep on that side again. Step out of the car without gripping the door. Book the trip you've been putting off.
Diane canceled her appointment with the surgeon. At 63, Linda sleeps on either side again.
Linda went back to her Tuesday pickleball game in June. Her hip wasn't worn out. She'd just been lying on a sore tendon for two years.
You've had the list. Now you have the three things on the back of it.
You've got nothing to lose here.
Either you sleep on that side again, or you send one email and every penny comes back.
Give your body 90 days to heal that tendon. The choice is yours.
HERE'S EXACTLY WHAT TO DO NEXT
- Tap the button below marked "Apply Discount & Check Availability". It opens Nurovita's order page with the 67% reader discount already applied.
Choose your package. Get at least 3 jars. After menopause, your body takes weeks to heal a sore tendon.
The 5-jar "Buy 3, Get 2 FREE" pack gives you the full 67% off: $23.40 a jar, with free shipping.
If both hips hurt, you'll rub it on both every night, so take the 5-jar pack.
- Fill in your shipping details. Shipping is free on the 3-jar and 5-jar packs.
- Watch for the package. Most orders arrive in 4 to 7 business days.
- Use it the night it arrives. Rub a dime-sized amount on the hip bone before bed. You have the full 90 days if it isn't for you.
Just don't put this page on a list of things to look at later.
Later is another shot that wears off. Later is another night your hip wakes you up. Later is a full-price jar, if there's one left.
Tap the button below to get your jars at 67% off today. Help the tendon heal, and sleep on your side again.

Sleep well,
Dr. Jennifer Anderson
P.S. On her second morning in Colorado, Linda sent me a note: "I slept on my bad side both nights, even in a strange bed."
Linda got two shots and saw a surgeon. It was never her joint. It was an inflamed tendon on the side of her hip. After menopause, with the estrogen drop, her body healed it slowly. She lay on it every night for two years.
The frankincense brought the inflammation down and helped the tendon heal.
In a few weeks, that could be you, but only if you order tonight.
P.P.S. If it doesn't work, one email brings every penny back, even if the jar is empty. You have 90 days.
Nobody ever refunded Linda's shots. A shot runs $100 to $300 and wears off in a few weeks.
P.P.P.S. Every jar uses frankincense resin scraped from the tree by hand, in the dry season only. When this batch is gone, everyone waits for the next harvest.
Nurovita takes this page down the day it sells out.

I just ordered. I'm nervous because two doctors told me bursitis and two shots wore off. But I pressed on my hip bone and it hurt, so I'm giving it a try.

I went to three appointments and nobody told me there was a tendon right on my hip bone. The tendon drawing finally made sense of it.

My orthopedist said hips just wear out after 70. I'm 71. Dr. Anderson sent me home with a jar at my last visit. Eight weeks in and I'm sleeping on my side again. Wish I'd known about that spot ten years ago.

I bought this for my wife. For two years she got up around 3am and walked the hallway. Now she sleeps later than I do.

I added it up like she said. I paid for two shots, PT copays, the gel, and an MRI. It came to over $2,000, and I still couldn't lie on that side.

My hip pain started the year after my periods stopped. I asked my doctor if it was menopause. She said menopause can wreck your sleep but it doesn't cause hip pain. For three weeks now, I've rubbed the balm on my hip every night. Last night I slept on my sore side until six in the morning.

Okay I'm skeptical. My surgeon wants to do a replacement in November. How does a balm beat that?

Ellie, my wife's surgeon wanted to replace hers too. It turned out her pain was the tendon on the side of her hip, not the joint. She rubbed the balm on it every night for six weeks and cancelled the surgery.
